We hope your heart will be lighter than the good doctor’s so that you will join us for an afternoon of comestibles and conviviality at the fall meeting of The Amateur Mendicant Society of Detroit.

Our assigned story is “The Final Problem,” which combines The Master (Sherlock Holmes), his dastardly arch-nemesis Professor Moriarty and a certain deadly waterfall in Switzerland.

Our presentation, by member Al Calderini, will be “Memorable Moriartys of the Media,” a comprehensive look at those who have so famously played the arch-villain on stage and screen.

We’ll also have the usual toasts, plus prizes and more so we hope to see you on October 5, 2014.

Our buffet includes veal parmigiana or roast chicken with meat & marinara sauces. A garden salad, hot garlic sticks, bread, beverages will be provided – as will cannolis for dessert.  As always, there will be a cash bar.
