“If you had killed Watson, you would not have gotten out of this room alive.”
-- Sherlock Holmes in “The Adventure of the Three Garridebs.”
Fortunately, Watson was only wounded – and we’ll celebrate that fact as we join together in fellowship at the fall buffet luncheon meeting of The Amateur Mendicant Society of Detroit.
Sunday, Oct. 1, 2017
Arrival 1:45 p.m., meeting begins at 2 p.m.
Station 885 Restaurant

Our assigned story is “The Adventure of the Three Garridebs,” which involves an odd name, an unlikely inheritance and a very close call in a cellar.
The afternoon’s presentation will feature George Vanderburgh on his time as a Sherlockian publisher with an investigation into the artwork for the Battered Silicon Dispatch Box Press.
There will also be toasts, a discussion of the assigned story, a prize raffle and the usual folderol.
