Spring Meeting - April 5th

We cordially invite you to join with like-minded friends to celebrate the “singular features…associated with the well-known Surrey family of the Roylotts of Stoke Moran” with an evening of food and conversation at the spring meeting of the Amateur Mendicant Society of Detroit.

Our assigned story is “The Speckled Band,” in which Sherlock Holmes faces off against Dr. Grimesby Roylott the ophidian flake, who murdered his stepdaughter using a snake.

David MacGregor will offer the talking points for the evening, Chris Music will give us some history with a Mendicant Minute, and Rich Krisciunas will present “Drs. Palmer and Pritchard: The First of Criminals.”

We will also have the usual toasts organized by Chris Music, prizes, and a 50/50 raffle.


We will offer a buffet with bone-in baked chicken, roast sirloin, garlic smashed potatoes, primavera pasta, green beans almondine, spring mix salad, homemade rolls, and dessert plus coffee, tea, and soft drinks. As always, there will also be a cash bar. All for just $35.
