Winter Meeting Notice

And just like Holmes, we hope that you’ll reappear to join us for an evening of comestibles and conviviality at the annual winter meeting of The Amateur Mendicant Society of Detroit.

Our assigned story is “The Empty House,” in which Holmes reappears after being thought dead and once again joins forces with Watson, to defeat the murderous Col. Sebastian Moran.

In his presentation, “My Life as Sherlock Holmes,” actor John Sherwood will recount his experiences portraying The Master over the years. There will also be toasts, prizes, birthday cake for Holmes and the annual Beggar’s Cup award.

We’ll also celebrate the release of Chris Music’s book, “From the Lower Vault: Treasures from Archives of the Amateur Mendicant Society of Detroit.”

In addition, annual AMS dues of $5 members, $15 new members will be collected.

Our dinner includes chicken Marsala, roast beef, pasta Alfredo, mixed vegetables, potatoes, salad, rolls, dessert and beverages. As always, there will be a cash bar.
