Spring Meeting Announcement - April 19

"Appreciation of nature found no place among his many gifts..."
- Dr. Watson on Sherlock Holmes in "The Resident Patient"

Unlike Holmes, we hope that you will be able to appreciate nature in a unique equestrian setting at the Spring meeting of the Amateur Mendicant Society of Detroit, to which you are most cordially invited.

Sunday April 19, 2009 at 1 PM
The Grosse Pointe Hunt Club, 655 Cook Road, Grosse Pointe Woods
(east of Mack Avenue between Moross and Vernier Roads)
Club Phone: (313) 884-9090

Our brief canonical discussion will concern "The Resident Patient" in which Holmes and Watson investigate a strange patient and an apparent suicide, though many things may not be what they seem.

Following that, Mendicant member Sam Stinson will offer a brief monograph on the same story. There will be a quiz on said "Patient" with prizes plus the usual toasts, a raffle for a Sherlock Holmes pewter pocket magnifier and other doings.

Note: Because this is a private, members-only club, reservations and menu choices must be made by Friday April 10. We will be unable to take your reservation after that date so please saddle up and act now - and indicate your entree selection with your check.

We look forward to seeing you April 19. Libations begin at 12:30 PM with a sumptuous repast at 1:00 PM.

Respectfully Submitted,
Rob Musial - Tantalus
